PAIR YOUR MEAL WITH OUR SELECTION OF ITALIAN AND BRITISH COLUMBIAN WINES
We believe that the best meals use the freshest, most local foods. We take a similar approach to our wine list, making an effort to match local foods with wines from the corresponding terroir.
We also believe that organic and “beyond organic” approaches to wine are yielding a superior product. That means you’ll see a number of wines on our list that are using the latest methods. Ironically, these “latest methods” are often based on ancient methods.
Vancouver Island’s terroir is unique. We are a very cool, northerly wine producing region. A lot of our wines, especially in marginal years, have a high acidity. Fortunately, this pairs well with seafood, which we produce in abundance.
In our cellar you’ll find a large selection of Vancouver Island wines. Currently we list Venturi Schultze, Alderlea, Averill Creek, Beaufort, Bluemoon, and Rocky Creek. Rounding out our list, we carry a growing list of Okanagan wines, including selections from Painted Rock, Blue Mountain, Lake Breeze, Hester Creek, Harper’s Trail, Thornhaven and Noble Ridge, among them.
With a nod to tradition and the founders of Toscano’s, who loved the food and wine of Tuscany, we also carry a selection of Tuscan wines. These have, for good reason, long been favourites at Toscano’s, and we are proud to stock them with our new, local favourites.
